When All Continents Were One: Continental Drift Theory
Around 300 million years ago, Earth's continents formed one giant supercontinent called Pangaea, surrounded by the superocean Panthalassa. German meteorologist Alfred Wegener proposed the Continental Drift Theory, supporting it with evidence such as matching coastlines, fossils, rocks, glacial deposits, and mineral deposits.
